This course is designed to explore factors that could lead to risk taking behaviour in young people, particularly in relation to alcohol, drugs, and sexual health.

About the Event
This training is free to all those working in a professional & volunteer capacity in the Bath and North East Somerset area.
This training course is developed by Project 28 (banes) and B&NES council. It is designed to explore factors that could lead to risk taking behaviour in young people, particularly in relation to alcohol, drugs, and sexual health. We will also discuss how to spot signs of substance use, and associated vulnerabilities including exploitation. We will discuss effective approaches to engaging YP in these discussions and promoting harm reduction behaviour.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- To identify challenges that young people face in today’s society
- To give examples of factors that might contribute to a young person’s risk taking behaviour
- To describe new activities/resources that can be used in work with young people around risk taking behaviour (e.g. an activity about drugs and/or alcohol, or sexual health)
- To list barriers that prevent young people from engaging in support around risk taking behaviour and ways professionals could work to overcome these barriers
- To name relevant support services/websites for young people with young people.
This session will run from 09:30am-14:30pm with allocated breaks.
This training course will be delivered face to face at Southside Youth Centre. Details of how to access Southside Youth Centre will be sent to the registered email address.
