How can we make the most of existing supportive networks like family, friends and neighbours and help people to build new ones? What kinds of community activity are currently taking place where people can make friendships and share big life events?
If you're interested in discussing these kind of questions then you might like to attend the launch of Compassionate Communities B&NES. This half day event at Odd Down Sports Ground, Bath will run from 9.30 am - 1 pm (free parking and lunch provided) and features guest speakers from Health Connections Mendip (who have set up a similar project in Frome) plus workshops and case studies led by local community organisations. We will ask attendees to participate in group discussions focused around key themes.
Compassionate Communities recognise that all natural cycles of sickness and health, birth and death, and love and loss occur everyday within local organisations and society. A Compassionate Community recognises that care for one another at times of crisis and loss is not simply a task solely for health and social services but is everyone’s responsibility. If this sounds like something you or your organisation want to be involved in then please come along on the 14th November and share your ideas and experience. Please book your free place here.
