Support For Environmental Projects In B&NES

In the context of B&NES Council declaring a climate emergency there is a big opportunity for local environmental groups to scale up their activities in response. 

This free event will signpost resources and support that could help your organisation to build on existing work or start new projects. This will include a mix of inspirational local stories, advice from funders and experts. Confirmed so far we have:

·         Climate emergency context setting (B&NES Council)

·         Parks Foundation  (Paul Pearce, B&NES Council)

·         Bathscape (Lucy Bartlett, B&NES Council)

Brief introductions to the support & funding opportunities:

·         Bath & West Community Energy Fund (Nick Bird/Sophie Hooper Lea)

·         Making an application for Community Infrastructure Levy and understanding the different processes depending on whether the project is in Bath or outside of Bath. (Dave Dixon, B&NES Council)

·         Wessex Water (Kirsty Scarlett, Wessex Water) funding streams and support.

·         CollectEco (Steve Sliney) A Bristol-based business that redistributes unwanted business kit to not-for-profit organisations.

·         Quartet Foundation (Claire Wynne Hughes). Award hundreds of grants each year, supporting local communities through local frontline charities and voluntary groups.

·         Avon Gardens Trust (tbc)

 - Robin Moss - Radstock and Westfield Big Local

Themed group discussions on issues like community energy, re-use and recycling, growing / biodiversity, plastic free communities and more

Venue open for light buffet and networking from 5.30 pm, talks start at 6 pm
