Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS) is looking for a Freelance Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser to provide additional capacity through the autumn/spring 2021.
Following unprecedented rises in referrals since the Covid pandemic, we are looking to fund higher levels of service delivery from April 2022. To enable this plan, we need to raise new restricted and unrestricted funding, and need a Freelance Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser to support the implementation of the Fundraising Strategy.
You will be an experienced Freelance Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser with excellent writing skills and a track record of raising single and multi-year grants. You will have a methodical approach to researching funding prospects, scheduling, and submitting applications, assembling compelling case for support materials and maintaining records of outputs.
This is an exciting role for a dynamic and experienced Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser with the drive to make an impact immediately. Knowledge and experience of fundraising for violence against women causes is desirable, but not essential.
You will be available for 2 – 3 days per week starting from late September / early October 2021 working with the current Fundraising Team.
We anticipate that you will work remotely, and all meetings will be held virtually.
SARSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress and help rebuild the lives of survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.
SARSAS also campaigns and raises awareness about rape and sexual violence to change the narrative about sexual violence enable survivor’s voices to be heard. Partnership work with a variety of agencies locally and nationally is a priority to enable social change.
SARSAS works to feminist principles: this underpins both what our service is and how it is run. Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors and keeps an awareness of the effects of trauma at the forefront of our approach to support.
Please note that our audited statutory financial statements for the year ended 31st March 2021 are in the process of being finalised by the Board of Trustees and will be uploaded in the next few weeks. They will show that SARSAS’ turnover now exceeds £1 million.
