3SG welcomes new employee, Sue!
We're really excited to announce a new addition to our team, Sue, who joins us as our Administrator. This has been a long time in the making, as the team and our activities and projects have grown and evolved - including the opening of our brand new ThirdSpace premises - this was the perfect time to welcome a new addition to the team to help with our capacity and ensure we can continue to provide a high-quality support service to our 260+ members, and successfully launch and manage our new charity hub on Queen Square, offering hot-desking, meeting and event space for our members to book!
Sue's first official day was last week, and so Emma - Operations & Comms Manager, took the opportunity to ask a few questions to find out more about Emma and her motivations behind joining 3SG. You can read the full Q&A below:
Tell us a little bit about yourself, Sue!
I live in Paulton and have three adult daughters and two grandchildren. I have worked in various fields over the years from nannying (in the UK and abroad) working in mental health services within Social services, Citizens advice Bureau, advocacy and welfare rights and most recently as a data analyst within a local education Trust. I have a degree from UWE in Sociology and social Policy which I achieved as an adult in my 30's.
I love music and travelling and have recently returned from an extended 4 month trip in SE Asia, Japan and South Korea. I also like reading, films, cooking, baking and crafting. i run an online business making decoupaged home decor and I specialise in decoupaging bespoke bamboo root ducks. I am a keen SUP boarder and like to take to the water as much as possible.
What interested you most about joining 3SG?
I was really interested in joining 3SG due to the diversity of the support it gives in the local community. The scoop of the work 3SG covers is so vast and varied, everyday is different. It is an under resourced area that is often overlooked so promoting this sector is something I am very much looking forward to being part of.
What are you most looking forward to about the role?
I am so excited to be joining the 3SG team and learning how the Third Sector works in more depth. I love chatting and meeting new people so am looking forward to connecting with members and learning about all the local initiatives going on.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
My fun fact is that I am an avid K-Pop fan and attend lots of concerts either in the UK or abroad. My favourite hobby is eating! Anything spicy I can't resist and my current go to is chicken wings and hot dip.
--------
Sue is joining the team at at exciting time as we begin to welcome members and visitors to our new space. Sue will be pivotal to the smooth running of ThirdSpace, welcoming and assisting our members in the hot-desking, meeting and event spaces. She will also be helping us to transition over to new internal systems, meaning more streamlined data and membership management and general administration of our operations, and supporting the capacity of the team to enable us to better serve our 260+ members. If you have a booking at ThirdSpace, attend one of our in-person events, or need any membership admin help, do look out for Sue and say Hello!
