Community Business Trade Up programme

Writer's picture: Simon PruttonSimon Prutton

SSE Dartington is running a free programme to support community businesses in the South West and the West of England. The nine month long programme will give community business leaders the head-space, support network and funding needed to adapt, digitise and diversify their income from trading. It will also provide them with a Trade Back grant of up to £10,000.

They will become a stronger, more sustainable community business as a result of this programme and in turn will help build stronger, more resilient communities across the area.

'What is a Community business?' In short there are many types of community business. They can be shops, farms, pubs or call centres, nursery schools, red tents, markets or other ideas. What they all have in common is that they are accountable to their community and that the profits they generate deliver positive local impact. You can see a more detailed explanation on the Power to change website here .

Application deadline is the 2nd December.
