About the scheme;
Now in its 16th year, the UWE Bristol Internship Scheme connects talented students with employers, helping organisations access skilled student talent while providing students with valuable professional experience.
The scheme offers funding towards intern wages and is open to UK SMEs, micro-organisations, charities, social enterprises and public sector organisations based in the South West of England.
The UWE Bristol Internship Scheme helps organisations offer paid work experience to UWE Bristol students, with funding available for eligible employers across the South West of England.
Whether you're looking for support on a specific project, extra capacity within your team, or access to emerging talent, an intern can bring new perspectives while gaining valuable real-world experience.

148 hours of paid internship experience, with interns paid at the Real Living Wage.
UWE funding all or part of the cost, depending on your organisation.

What's new for 2026/27?
Organisations interested in funding must submit an Internship Proposal Form during the application window. Eligible proposals will be assessed against the scheme criteria and available funding.

18 November 2026 - Proposal deadline
Week commencing 14 December 2026 - Funding decisions communicated
25 January 2027 - Internships launch to students
February-July 2027 - Internships take place
