Free Upcoming DBS Virtual Workshops

Upcoming free virtual DBS workshops. These sessions are open to organisations across the voluntary, community, social enterprise and charity (VCSE) sector and are designed to support those with responsibilities for safeguarding, safer recruitment, workforce management and volunteer coordination.

The workshops aim to increase awareness and understanding of DBS checks, barring responsibilities and the DBS Update Service, helping organisations to make safer recruitment decisions and strengthen safeguarding practices.

All sessions are delivered free-of-charge via MS Teams by Mel Berry, DBS Regional Outreach Adviser for the South West of England, and provide an opportunity to learn more about DBS processes, ask questions, and gain practical knowledge to support safer recruitment and safeguarding.

DBS aims to protect the public by helping organisations make safer recruitment and employment decisions, and by barring individuals who pose a risk to vulnerable people from engaging in regulated activity with adults and/or children. The DBS outreach team offer a range of free training to raise awareness and knowledge in relation to DBS processes and safeguarding responsibilities.

The sessions are free of charge and will provide knowledge, skills, and confidence to aid and support those responsible for safer recruitment and safeguarding within their organisation.

If you have any questions about anything outlined, please contact Mel.Berry2@dbs.gov.uk
