About the Event

Ideal for charities and nonprofit organisations who do not have access to a professional designer, Canva is a free to use online tool that makes it easy to create graphics and designs such as images for social media, annual reports, presentations, flyers, posters, videos, and much more.

It allows individuals and team members to easily collaborate on work and create a range of resources your charity might use across digital platforms and for print.

And perhaps best of all – if you’re a UK registered charity, you can apply to Canva for a ‘PRO’ license. If accepted, you have access to thousands of additional ‘pro’ level assets (e.g. illustrations, graphics, photos, video, audio) that you would normally only be able to use if you paid extra.

In this workshop, we will take you through Canva as a platform, showing you how to get started and learn the basics in order to be able to create your own first designs. If you need a Facebook hero image to have text over the top – Canva is your tool. If you’re looking to make a more eye catching Instagram post – Canva has a heap of inspiration to get you started. If you want to jazz up your annual report – Canva has a collection of templates that look good and will save you time. Join us on this workshop to get started with Canva and learn how it can help your charity!

You will leave this workshop knowing how to:

- Get started with Canva – set up an account and navigate the platform

- Create a basic design – using a pre-made template and entering your own design dimensions

- Save your design to the most appropriate format to use outside of Canva (e.g. on your website, on socials, as a printed product)

After this workshop, if you wish to have further training in Canva, you might wish to sign up to our three hour Canva for Small Charities: Growing Your Confidence with Canva class, which is available online as a paid course.

We offer a range of online courses all designed to help small charities grow their confidence with digital marketing and fundraising.
