Charities Act 2022: what does it mean for charities?

This webinar will give an overview of the Charities Act 2022 which implements the majority of recommendations made by the Law Commission in its 2017 report ‘Technical issues in charity law’ and aims to reduce the administrative burden on charities, saving both time and money.

We will consider the key provisions of the Act, what they mean for charities and look at when various provisions will come into force. The Act will be implemented on a staggered basis over the next 12 months to allow time for trustees to understand the changes being brought in by the Act and for the Charity Commission to reflect the changes by updating existing guidance and creating new guidance. Our plan is to run more in depth webinars on key provisions of the Act as they are implemented.
