About the Event
Starting out, how do you know what you’re doing right and whether you are building creative practice and ideas into a viable business? This workshop with Gill Wildman is all about the setting up of moving from a creative practice to a business that can support you in your work. In this workshop we will be:
- mapping out your business journey;
- exploring the possible business forms you might consider;
- trying out potential business models for now and in the future.
Gill Wildman is a strategic designer, programme designer, training workshop facilitator, and creative business mentor. She has been engaged in various creative enterprise initiatives on collaborations with Watershed including REACT Alumni scheme (from R&D ideas to early business) and later a mentor with Network for Creative Enterprise before becoming Business Development Advisor for South West Creative Technology Network. She has brought purposeful creative business thinking with the Clwstwr programme, Black South West Network, West of England Combined Authority’s current Create Growth programme, Creative Scale Up and Creative Sector Growth Programme and Bristol + Bath Creative R+D. Prior to this, Gill’s 20 years at Plot, her strategic design innovation consultancy worked with clients including BBC, Microsoft, Nokia and many smaller organisations and companies. This workshop is delivered by Watershed for the Create Growth Programme for WECA. Create Growth is a national programme funded by the DCMS to support growth potential creative business. This unique programme aims to extend the growth potential of creative companies in the West of England area, building business capabilities and engaging the best in creative business training experience. We want to bring some of the programme to creative business who are not part of the larger programme, but who are interested in thinking about how growth might work for their company.
