About the Event

Volunteering is a way for young people to develop skills, improve their confidence, help their communities, and have fun.But not everybody has the opportunity to volunteer. Join us to hear how charities and community groups have engaged young people, including those who are underrepresented or face barriers to taking part. We’ll explore how to ensure young people are listened to, and what support needs to be provided to help them thrive.

Our panel comprises of:

  • Annie Caffyn (IVAR) talking about the work of Pears NHS Network in supporting young people volunteering in hospitals and exploring careers in healthcare.
  • Linda McGlynn, Young Movers project manager sharing the work of their youth-led Glasgow charity that enables young people to empower themselves through volunteering and lifelong learning.
  • Sara Caravelas (Volunteering Matters) talking about the London Young Ambassadors programme.
  • A young volunteer sharing their experience
