About the Event
Making changes such as stopping smoking, improving diet, increasing physical activity, losing weight and reducing alcohol consumption can help people to reduce their risk of poor health significantly.
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is a behaviour change approach that utilises the millions of daily interactions that organisations and people have with others to encourage changes in behaviour that have a positive effect on the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities and populations.
A new and exciting new training model for the South West of England was launched in early 2022.
At the end of this 3 hour session, you will:
• be committed to cascading MECC within your place of work
• recognise that MECC is relevant to own role
- it is recommended the following E-learning package should be completed (which will take up to an hour): Making Every Contact Count - elearning for healthcare (e-lfh.org.uk)
The E-learning modules include:
• Module 1: What is MECC and why is it important
• Module 2: How to have a MECC conversation
• Module 3: Signposting
