About the Event

The Mental Health First Aid course has been updated! The new course includes access to the new MHFAider Support App®, where course members can access 24/7 digital support, as well as training resources and ongoing learning opportunities.

Additionally, MHFAiders® now have access to exclusive events, so that they can continue to develop their support for your workplace beyond the training course.

Bath Mind is a member of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England with qualified instructors offering a range of evidence-based learning, from awareness raising to skill development.

The course empowers people to notice signs of mental ill health, and encourage them to break down barriers, listen in a non-judgemental way, and signpost to support for recovery. We deliver the full MHFA, as well as the MHFA Champion, Aware and MHFA Refresh courses.

This course supports people to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist, but it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.

This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

The online MHFA is broken down into 4 live sessions with independent learning.

November 2022 dates:

  • Monday 21st November
  • Thursday 24th November
  • Monday 28th November
  • Thursday 1st December

All sessions from 09.30am – 1.30pm.

Please note you must attend all 4 live sessions to qualify as a MHFAider®.

The adult courses are suitable for anyone over the age of 18 and participants can attend for personal or professional reasons.

Course cost: £325 per person

Deadline to register: Wednesday 9th November - Sign up here.
