NCVO/Zurich webinar: Safeguarding essentials for charities

Safeguarding is about making sure your organisation is run in a way that actively prevents harm, harassment, bullying, abuse and neglect.

Organisations should be ready to respond safely and well if there's a problem. Good safeguarding practice should be embedded into your day-to-day activities.

This webinar will give you an essential introduction and refresher to safeguarding children and adults.

We'll explore:

• the important role charities can play in safeguarding within communities
• Charity Commission expectations
• digital and online safeguarding
• safer recruitment
• developing your own safeguarding guidance, policies, and procedures.

By the end of the webinar, you’ll:

• better understand your charity’s safeguarding risks
• know how to take practical steps to manage those risks
• know where to find additional guidance and support.

This webinar will be hosted by NCVO in partnership with Zurich, one of our trusted suppliers.Richard Powley, safeguarding risk consultant at Zurich, will be leading the webinar.Richard has over a decade of safeguarding leadership experience across the statutory, health and charitable sectors.

HOW WILL IT BE DELIVERED? This session will take place on Zoom. We'll share joining instructions, including the Zoom link, one week in advance.The webinar will run for approximately 40 minutes, with 20 minutes at the end for questions.
