About the Event

This session is part of our Trustee Learning Programme, providing free and high-quality training to support people to become and serve as effective trustees.

If asked, most charities would say they are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome. But when people from all walks of life interact with one another as colleagues, balancing their different beliefs, opinions, and boundaries can be tricky.

In this seminar, Carla Whalen (a Partner at Russell-Cooke solicitors) will take a look at recent case law on the protection of beliefs and explore the role of trustees in supporting their organisations.

Join us to consider:

  • How should a charity approach a dispute involving conflicting beliefs?
  • What are the limits on an individual’s right to freedom of belief?
  • Can an employer separate an employee’s beliefs from their conduct in manifesting those beliefs?
