About the Event

We hold a monthly Senior Leaders Network for our members, which we aim to alternate between in-person and online to accommodate for different individuals' preferences.

This session will focus on 'How can you and your staff develop and maintain resilience?' where we'll be hearing from speaker Dr Mark Hughes. In this wide-ranging talk, encompassing physiology, mindset, recruitment, timeframing, purpose and Einstein(!), practical ideas will be provided. Resilience in a virtual/hybrid workplace will also be considered.

About the Speaker

Dr Mark Hughes is Director of mch: positive impacta Bath based staff development company that works for the charitable sector.  Mark started his career at the international consultancy firm McKinsey & Company, where intensive, 15-hour days were not uncommon. He then worked as Chief Executive of Rumbalara, an Aboriginal sporting and community development organisation. Unbeknown to him, Mark joined the organisation when it was on the brink of insolvency.  Mark also has governance experience, having been Chairman of Evidence to Impact, a social enterprise which improves public health.

During his time as Chairman, Mark needed to ‘step-in’, when the organisation’s CEO died suddenly.  This occurred at the same time as getting divorced and buying and renovating a new home; while all the while being solely responsible for running mch.  Consequently, Mark has considerable personal experience of remaining resilient in tough times.  Mark blends this personal experience with proven research when assisting others to develop resilience, whether that be through his training or mentoring work.
