About the Event
Skilled volunteering? Many infrastructure organisations are looking to develop initiatives around corporate volunteering and skills sharing. There can be real benefits in terms of tapping into skills and capacity that organisations need, as well as benefits for the employees who learn in the process.
But, there are pitfalls of power and practical application too. Pilotlight is a well established national charity that specialises in skills sharing, attracting support from businesses, from Sodexo to Morgan Stanley, to provide high quality free support for charity and social enterprise leaders.
Ed Mayo will lead this session to talk through some of the opportunities and challenges we might tap in to as a sector, setting out Pilotlight’s experience and learning. Ed will explore how the vital role of local infrastructure might connect most effectively with this, supporting not just local voluntary organisations but also the dynamics of local community development.
