‘The State of Us’, New research into UK Community and Cohesion

A year on from the summer riots of 2024, new research finds a tinderbox of social pressures and grievances remain unaddressed in UK communities, including polarisation, declining political trust and economic pessimism. Without urgent action, unrest risks being reignited.

The report is a foundational input to the new Independent Commission on Community and Cohesion, chaired by Sir Sajid Javid and Jon Cruddas, which held its inaugural meeting of Commissioners last month. they'll also be joined by expert panellists commenting on the findings.
