First Steps is a grassroots charity reversing cycles of poverty through the provision of quality childcare and education and integrated family services. We imagine a world where all children are free to be themselves and live their lives to the full.
Over the last 33 years, we have helped create transformative change in the lives of children under five and their families. We are looking to strengthen the First Steps board of trustees; trustees are the people who lead the charity and decide how it is run.
We are looking for people who are interested in joining a collaborative and robust board, who are driven by our values and mission, including our unrelenting focus on improving outcomes for children, particularly those with special educational needs, and their families.
If you’re a parent in Twerton or Moorlands areas, have experience raising a child with special educational needs, or bring skills in charity governance, property, HR, or technology - we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re looking to share your expertise or simply want to explore how you can make a meaningful difference in your community, please get in touch.
As a First Steps trustee, you would be joining a talented board and supporting an outstanding Senior Leadership Team. We take great pride in the professional and personal experiences of the whole team, and we actively seek out representation from across our community. Our diversity is our strength and helps us as we deliver our Theory of Change outcomes. We are looking to represent the community that we work within and the families who use our services and are particularly keen to hear from people from minority groups.
