Key Responsibilities
Core Administration & Data Management
- Email & Communication: Manage the primary Grow for Life email account, responding to queries and forwarding as appropriate - Grow for Life will provide a Google Chromebook, access to printer, paper, and ink.
- Volunteer Onboarding: Enrol new volunteers by requesting forms, sending welcome packs, and processing DBS checks.
- Database Management: Input and maintain up-to-date records for all Gardeners and Volunteers on Salesforce.
- Team Liaison: Coordinate with the Horticultural Therapy Lead to input initial and interim reviews on Salesforce, and manage session attendance registers.
- Operations Support: Book training courses for staff/volunteers, reserve venues for meetings, and assist other staff members with general admin tasks as needed.
- Policy Maintenance: Review, update, and maintain Grow for Life’s organizational policies annually alongside the Director.
Community Engagement, Marketing & Events
- Event Coordination: Partner with the existing team to organize and execute Grow for Life events (including Open Days, Apple Day, the Christmas Party, and Wassail).
- Newsletter Distribution: Create and distribute our monthly digital newsletter.
- Digital Presence: Maintain and update the Grow for Life website, write regular news articles/blog posts, and optimize content using SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).
- Social Media & Design: Collaborate with the team to create 2–3 weekly engaging posts on Facebook and Instagram, and design promotional flyers, literature, and posters.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Proactive Attitude: An independent worker and proactive thinker who uses initiative, takes responsibility for decisions, and adapts well to changing situations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident, friendly telephone manner and the sensitivity to connect with a diverse range of staff, volunteers, service users, and external agencies.
- Digital Literacy: Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and practical experience using databases. Working knowledge of website design/maintenance (specifically Wix) and graphic design (Canva).
- Experience with Social Media: Skilled in promoting organizational presence via Facebook and Instagram.
- Team Player: Proven ability to work efficiently as part of a small, remote team.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working in an administrative or PA role.
- An awareness and understanding of the challenges of working for a mental health charity.
- Sympathetic to the charity's Christian ethos.
- Full driving licence.

PA to the Director and Operations Support Administrator
Salary:
£27,500 - £29,150 per annum, pro-rata (£8,720 – £9,330 actual)
Hours:
12 hours per week (Worked flexibly, ideally spaced over Monday & Thursday)
