Project Support Officer - UpFront Survivors

We have an exciting opportunity to join the thriving and dynamic SARSAS team as the Upfront Survivors Project Support Officer.

About You

The successful candidate will be dynamic and self-motivated with significant experience of project management who is passionate about bringing about real change for people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.

You will be highly organised and an effective leader able to motivate and coordinate others within the project team. You will have significant experience of project management tools and techniques and of managing projects and budgets of a national scale. You will have experience of writing funding applications for a range of funders, trusts and foundations.

In this key role, the Project Support Officer will be responsible for supporting the administration and delivery of our major new project, UpFront Survivors. You will work alongside the Project Manager, and the lead project partners SARSAS, The Greenhouse and Coventry University, and the lead delivery partner Viv Gordon Company. You will also work closely with our national partners, which will require some travel to these organisations and regular working from our Bristol office (at least 1 day a fortnight in Bristol).

SARSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress and help rebuild the lives of victim-survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.

SARSAS also campaigns and raises awareness about rape and sexual violence to change the narrative about sexual violence and to enable survivors’ voices to be heard. Partnership work with a range of agencies locally and nationally is a priority to enable social change.

SARSAS works to feminist principles: this underpins both what our service is and how it is run. Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors and keeps an awareness of their effects at the forefront of our approach to support.

SARSAS values diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community. We are actively encouraging applicants with a protected characteristic such as BAME women, who are currently under-represented at SARSAS, to join our team. We are a Disability Confident Committed Employer. Our current premises are wheelchair accessible.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
