All Cycle Bath & West - Senior Sessional Cycle Leader/s

Locations: ‘Somer Valley’ area (Radstock, Midsomer Norton)and Odd Down Sports Ground.

Part time hours to support the delivery of the All Cycle Bath & West programme in the Somer Valley area to support the ‘Active Way’ project (Social Prescribing) and at the cycling circuit at Odd Down Sports Ground, Bath.

With an available total of 9.5 hours per week we are looking for: either one sessional staff member but would consider applicants as a share of these hours. We are also interested in hearing from potential staff on a casual employment basis.

Including weekday, evening and some weekend activities. 

Rate: £13 per hour

This is an exciting opportunity to join the local inclusive cycling charity All Cycle Bath & West with a strong focus on disability access, health improvement and social inclusion for all ages and abilities. We are pleased to take the All Cycle Bath & West inclusive cycling service to this exciting new project in the Somer Valley area of B&NES.

As All Cycle Bath & West sessional staff, you will be responsible for the delivery of the inclusive cycling sessions, engaging with welcoming and supporting new participants to All Cycle Bath & West as part of the ‘Active Way’ social prescribing project in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset council. 

Initially this is a funded programme through to October 2025 with funding and investment from the DFT’s Active Travel fund partners and with contributions from other funding sources for some work at our base at Odd Down Sports Ground and cycling circuit.

The Active Travel social prescribing service will be delivered through a range of inclusive walking and cycling interventions, using bikes and e-bikes, social prescribing pathways, proactive engagement with residents, and outreach into communities and settings such as health settings, workplaces and schools.

With a National Standard (Bikeability) cycle trainer or an equivalent leader qualification, you will be a highly motivated individual with some experience of delivering cycling across a broad range of partners. 

You will ideally have experience of delivering community projects and had experience of working with people of all abilities/or previously worked for a charity. 

You will be enthusiastic, driven, well organised and able to embrace cycling as a credible and beneficial activity for people regardless of their ability.

Gaining a wide range of skills in an inclusive environment, you will be part of an effective and exciting network bringing cycling to people regardless of their ability .
