Job Role: Gypsy, Roma, Boater, Traveller Team Leader

Salary:  £15,300 (Full Time Equivalent £25,500)

Hours:  22.5 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Covering BANES and Wiltshire

 

​The Role

The Team Leader will assist the Service Manager with management of the GRBT service, ensuring the teams is well supported and supervised. The Team Leader will be a visible and active presence within the service and with support from the Service Manager, ensure service improvements are embedded.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote the service to individuals and groups within GRT and boater communities, leading the development of stake holder groups and Community Champions who can help lead the service within their own community.
  • Assist the Service Manager with operational management, staff line management of local project team.
  • Provide supportive line management and supervision to team members ensuring regular reviews are in place including monthly supervisions, PDRs and any other reviews as appropriate.
  • Provide a caseload of clients with high-quality person-centred services which takes a strength based and trauma informed approach.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for client involvement within the project.
  • Obtain clients views and feedback shape the design and delivery of local projects.
  • Provide clients with advice, information so that they can access appropriate services internally and externally.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle – business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needs
  • Experience working with the Travelling Communities
  • Experience providing a tailored outreach service for those living in marginalised communities
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the challenges faced by travelling communities (either working knowledge or lived experience) is highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of the benefits system would also be an advantage
