Key responsibilities

Operations & Facilities

  • Manage overall building operations including cleaning, maintenance, utilities and supplies
  • Act as main point of contact for tenants and resolve facilities queries
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money
  • Oversee external IT provider relationship
  • Support operational budgeting and identify efficiencies
  • Keyholder duties including alarms and access control
  • Ensure bar, gallery and event spaces are set up appropriately
  • Support fire safety checks and compliance

Maintenance

  • Plan and manage preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Conduct regular inspections and address issues proactively
  • Carry out minor repairs and coordinate external contractors
  • Oversee garden/outdoor upkeep
  • Manage deliveries and venue stock (including occasional cash & carry trips)
  • Liaise with cleaners and maintain standards

Projects & Event Support

  • Deliver small site improvement projects
  • Support exhibition installs and event logistics
  • Lead accessibility, sustainability and security initiatives
  • Assist with operational admin and occasional marketing support

About you

Essential

  • Experience in facilities or maintenance within a public-facing site
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
  • Experience managing contractors
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and respond calmly under pressure
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Physically able to lift/move equipment safely
  • Driving licence and access to a car
  • Able to attend Monday morning team meetings

Desirable

  • Experience in venue or events operations
  • Interest in arts and music
