We’re looking for a male companion for James who has little sight, daily fatigue and diminished neurological health, but still enjoys plenty of conversation, exercise, playing golf and riding on his tandem.  We're looking for someone who can visit James at home in Beckington 2–3 afternoons a week, for around 3–4 hours at a time. The right person doesn’t need to be a particular age, but they should enjoy sport, be fit and healthy, have a car, and—most importantly—bring warmth and compassion to the role.

Here’s a snapshot of what the role involves:

  • Spending 2–3 afternoons per week with James (3–4 hours each time, days flexible for both parties)
  • Based from James’s home in Beckington, and driving James to local appointments or activities
  • A commitment of at least 3–4 months (with a trial week to begin)
  • Working alongside Olivia (James’s wife) to plan activities depending on weather, time, and James’s energy levels
  • Joining James in the activities he loves. Most importantly, these include:  golf, tandem bike rides, cooking, working out in the home gym.
  • Driving James to medical appointments as needed
  • Be available for the occasional overnight stay at James’s house when Olivia is away

Pay will be £15 per hour, paid weekly in arrears. if this sounds like you—we’d love to hear from you.
