The Life Project is a Christian charity based in Bath that supports adults with learning disabilities to build friendships, develop confidence and live fulfilling lives within their local community.

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and creative Activity Leader to join our Day Services team for one day a week (Wednesday) on a term-time only basis.

Working alongside the Session Leader, volunteers and other staff, you will help plan and deliver engaging activities that are enjoyable, inclusive and tailored to the individual needs and interests of the people we support. Activities may include arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, community outings, games, life skills, enterprise projects and other creative opportunities.

The role is about much more than delivering activities. You will encourage people to develop new skills, build confidence, form friendships and participate fully in community life. You will create a welcoming environment where every person feels valued, included and able to flourish.

Main responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, meaningful and inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities
• Adapt activities to suit a range of abilities, interests and support needs
• Build positive, supportive relationships with the people we support
• Encourage independence, participation, creativity and personal development
• Work closely with the Session Leader to ensure activities contribute to agreed outcomes
• Support volunteers within activities and help create a positive team environment
• Promote the wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of everyone attending Day Services
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies at all times
• Maintain basic activity records and contribute to planning meetings and supervision
• Represent The Life Project positively within the local community
• Support the vision, mission and Christian values of The Life Project in all aspects of the role

• Has good communication and basic IT skills
• Shares our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and enabling adults with learning disabilities to thrive
• Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities or people with additional support needs is desirable but not essential
