We're a local charity with 30 years of experience in providing specialist support for unpaid carers of all ages, across Bath and North East Somerset.
An unpaid carer is someone who is looking after a friend or family member due to mental or physical illness, disability, addiction or old age. This may be round-the-clock care, or perhaps just ad-hoc help, like doing some shopping or taking someone to an appointment.
Full Description of Organisation
Most of us will find ourselves caring for a loved one, or be cared for ourselves, at some point in our lives. It can be the most meaningful, rewarding thing we do.
But the challenge of supporting others can leave carers feeling isolated, stressed and worried about money. Lots of carers are older themselves, some are children (‘young carers’) and many don’t even recognise themselves as carers. They just ‘get on with it’ – managing quietly, often invisibly, but in need of support themselves.
We work hard to ensure that unpaid carers in Bath and North East Somerset are supported, visible and valued.
We offer a range of FREE services, whether you've been a carer for a few days, or a few years.
Freephone Support line: Call us for tailored, practical advice – or simply share how you’re feeling, with a friendly member of our team.
Wellbeing activities: Have some ‘me-time’ at a fun activity or relaxed ‘Carer Cafe’.
Financial guidance and home energy support: Get info about potential grants or benefits you might be eligible for, and advice on how to manage your bills, reduce debtand prioritise your outgoings.
Self-help service: Our AI coaches can give carers like you personalised support and information – day and night.
Planning for the future: We can help you prepare for emergencies, so that you’re ready for any unexpected challenges life may present.
Emotional support: Get peer support and share knowledge and ideas, through meeting others who understand your situation – because they are carers too.
