Friends of the RUH Bath
Full Description of Organisation
The League of Friends of the RUH is a charity that not only raises money for the good and benefit of patients. We provided the volunteer recruitment for the Royal United Hospitals (RUH), as well as run the Friends Cafe and Shop in the RUH and provide grants to the hospital to support the improvement of care and experience of patients.
We have a senior leadership team and Board of Trustees who manage the Charity and ensures it is financially secure and complies with all the rules and regulations of the Charity Commission. The trustees are also volunteers who give their time freely.
In our last reporting year, 2024/2024, our income was £1.73m, and we provided £381k in Grants to support patients - more on how we are funded and the impact of our Grants, such as the £37.7k to fund the breast care Savi scout machine, the £33.3k for the Soundbite music therapy and the £17.3k for the breast care ultrasound machine can be found here: About the Friends of the RUH Charity in Bath
Our volunteers come from many walks of life and have widely different reasons for volunteering. Many are retired but still feel they have something to offer. Young students who have aspirations to join the medical profession or who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award also do a wonderful job for us. In out lasty reporting year we provided just under 200 volunteers who collectively gave over 21,000 hours to volunteer at the RUH.
Whatever your experience, skills or motivation for wanting to become a volunteer you are sure to find it satisfied within the range of opportunities we have on offer.
