The Nest Project

Brief Description of Organisation

The Nest Project is a baby bank providing new and second hand essential clothing, equipment and toiletries, free of charge, to families with 0-5 year olds, experiencing financial hardship in BANES.

Full Description of Organisation

We are a non-judgemental and welcoming service for families with children under the age of 5 in BANES who are experiencing financial difficulties, providing essential children's clothing, equipment and toiletries free of charge via a collection or delivery.

We also offer in-person consultations for expectant parents to come and choose items that they need to be prepared for their baby's arrival. We hope that by doing this alongside providing support and guidance, we will ease the financial pressure that many families with young children face.

Why? Sadly 1/3 of children under the age of 5 are living in poverty in the South West. We believe every child deserves to be warm and provided for, and to be given the best start to life as possible.

Who? Anyone living in BANES that is experiencing financial hardship, can use our service. We understand that children grow quickly, and you’re welcome to keep on coming back as you need new items. If you are an agency you can access our service on behalf of a client.

How? We rely on donations of mostly second hand items, given to us by other families in the area who no longer need them. We love that we are reusing and recycling items that are already in our community, and are able to pass them on to those who need them. See our website for both how to donate, and how to receive support.
