The Wisdom Space: Reconnecting Through Nature, Community, and Conscious Aging
Our Mission
Established in 2020 by Michelle Hawkins-Collins, The Wisdom Space CIC was created to address the growing disconnection many of us feel from our deeper selves, our communities, and the natural world. This disconnect often leads to increased anxiety, isolation, and a lack of resilience. Our mission is to unite individuals from all walks of life to explore what truly matters, fostering reconnection with our inner wisdom, collective wisdom, and the wisdom of nature.
What We Offer
The Wisdom Space hosts a variety of initiatives designed to nurture holistic well-being and encourage deep engagement with oneself and the natural world. We strive to create spaces where all voices are heard, and wisdom is shared across generations. All our activities are affordable and accessible to the local community, ensuring everyone can participate and benefit.
Current Offerings:
Seasonal Celebrations: Michelle and local ecotherapist and naturopathic nutritionist Sue Judge co-host seasonal celebrations in our enchanting woodland space—The Wise Woods Project. These woodland day retreats nourish the mind, body, and spirit while honoring nature's cycles. Participants enjoy a mix of meditation, forest bathing, nature crafts, sharing cacao around the fire, journaling, mindful movement, seasonal well-being masterclasses, storytelling, rituals, and, of course, delicious seasonal food prepared by Sue.
Life Stories & Eldership: Michelle works one-on-one with older community members to capture life stories and reflect on the wisdom accumulated over a lifetime. This initiative is part of a broader project exploring eldership in the community and the untapped wisdom of older individuals in building community resilience.
Workshops and Learning: We facilitate ad-hoc workshops with local artisans, including creative sessions. More offerings will follow in 2026.
Community Gatherings: For over five years, we've held evening gatherings in Bradford-on-Avon, inviting locals to share their stories and wisdom. These gatherings are currently on hiatus for the winter, with plans to relaunch in spring 2026.
Our Team
These offerings are led by Michelle Hawkins-Collins, the founder, along with a team of wonderful and highly experienced local facilitators. Michelle is a Gerontologist focusing on conscious aging and spiritual health. She is also an oral historian, storyteller, poet, and the current Bard of Bath.
